Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  1. Administer care to children under the current standard of care with varying emergent medical conditions within the emergency department.
  2. Practice evidence-based approach for SANE examinations, kit collection and patient advocacy and how these relate to upcoming changes in SASETA (Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act).
  3. Discuss current regional and national statistics on firearm-based violence in the pediatric population and screen for risk with individual patients and best advocate for pediatric patient safety (regionally and nationally).
  4. Discuss key attributes of Pediatric Readiness as they apply to both the emergency room, urgent care and pediatric office setting.
  5. Identify challenging patient presentation scenarios and subsequent legal ramifications from a medical risk perspective, including best practices regarding documentation, patient/family discussions and Interprofessional communication as it pertains to medical care and treatment.

Conference cost
$25.00 for Northwestern Medicine employees and physicians
$50.00 for non-affiliated physicians and clinicians

From Winfield Road, enter the hospital campus at Entry 2 or Entry 3.
You have the option to valet park or self-park in Parking Lot 3.
