Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Administer care to children under the current standard of care with varying emergent medical conditions within the emergency department.
- Practice evidence-based approach for SANE examinations, kit collection and patient advocacy and how these relate to upcoming changes in SASETA (Sexual Assault Survivors Emergency Treatment Act).
- Discuss current regional and national statistics on firearm-based violence in the pediatric population and screen for risk with individual patients and best advocate for pediatric patient safety (regionally and nationally).
- Discuss key attributes of Pediatric Readiness as they apply to both the emergency room, urgent care and pediatric office setting.
- Identify challenging patient presentation scenarios and subsequent legal ramifications from a medical risk perspective, including best practices regarding documentation, patient/family discussions and Interprofessional communication as it pertains to medical care and treatment.

Conference cost

You have the option to valet park or self-park in Parking Lot 3.
